Description

The School of Internal Security, Defence, and Strategic Studies at Rashtriya Raksha University is launching a specialised PG Diploma course on Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation (PBCT) with a trimodal orientation that will include remote/online classes, in-person/offline interactions, simulations, presentations, and field-based learning exercises. The goal is to enhance the opportunities available for in-service and working professionals in India's security and defence sectors.
The course will cover conflict management theories and strategies, typologies of violent conflicts, varieties of peace, and problems that come up during the peacebuilding and statebuilding processes, cumulatively aimed at providing a foundational-cum-holistic understanding of the issues. It pertains not only to the in-conflict dynamics between agents/actors in a conflict locale but also to the post-conflict restructuring of socio-political realities for generating processes and institutions of sustainable peace. It updates scholars with contemporary debates and paradigms in the analogous domains of human security, transitional justice, and humanitarian law. Through this course, we also assess the cognitive and
communicative aspects of conflict and peace, placing a strong emphasis on decolonising and de-gendering research within the field.
