Dr. Manish Barma

Dr. Manish Barma is an Assistant Professor of International Relations and Security Studies at the School of International Cooperation, Security, and Strategic Languages (SICSSL) since June 2024. Dr. Manish Barma has completed his PhD titled “Cultural Heritage and European Identity” from the Centre for European Studies, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. His PhD thesis specifically investigated the variability of Culture and its role in the institutional integration and disposition of the European Union. He has done his MPhil dissertation titled “Secularism and Revival of Religion: A Case Study of France, 2004-2017”, from the same Centre in the year 2018. He completed his graduation in Political Science from Hindu College, University of Delhi. He holds a double Master’s degree in Political Science from Indira Gandhi National Open University as well as University of Delhi. Dr. Barma focuses on the evolution and development of bilateral ties between India-France and India-Greece. Besides, he keenly studies the areas of Security, Strategy and Geo-Politics that concern Europe and India. He regularly writes for newspapers, online platforms and journals of national and international repute. He has been awarded the Indian Council for Social Science Research (ICSSR) Doctoral Fellowship in 2021. He has also been a visiting scholar at the International Hellenic University at Thessaloniki, Greece in 2022.
