Ink and Iron: Two-Day Literary Fest on National Security in Contemporary India - September Batch
19 Sep, 2025
National security is the foundation of India’s sovereignty and progress. In an era of global uncertainty, India under its visionary leadership has strengthened its defense, secured its borders, and projected itself as a responsible power in the Indo-Pacific and beyond. Yet, security is not only about military might, it is also about cultural unity, collective responsibility, and national pride. Literature, cinema, and digital media play an equally important role in inspiring citizens, honoring sacrifices, and fostering patriotism. This Literary Fest on National Security will highlight stories of courage, integrity, and resilience that reinforce India’s vision of a secure, strong, and united nation.
Rationale
India faces complex security challenges - terrorism, radicalization, cross-border infiltration, cyber threats, and environmental changes. Guided by a strong national security policy, the government has taken decisive measures: strengthening the armed forces, improving border infrastructure, championing Atmanirbhar Bharat in defense production, and projecting India’s leadership globally. Literature and cultural narratives must reflect these achievements, inspire pride, and strengthen the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat. Films such as Uri: The Surgical Strike, Haqeeqat, LOC: Kargil, Shershaah and series like The Family Man capture the decisive and resilient spirit of Bharat. This festival will celebrate such narratives as vehicles of awareness, patriotism, and nation-building.
Objectives:
1.To promote literary and cultural works that reinforce patriotism and national unity.
2. To inspire youth to engage with themes of service, duty, and sacrifice for the nation.
3. To highlight India’s security achievements under strong leadership.
4. To bridge literature, cinema, and policy in fostering pride in India’s heritage and
resilience.
5. To encourage creative expression that reflects the complexity of modern security challenges
